At Howard Junior School, we provide each child with a 'Home-School Reading Diary' each term. This is a place for parents/carers to log what their child has been reading each day. It also contains a number of other pieces of useful information around the learning your child is undertaking in class.

We ask that this is signed each weekday when possible. Reading is incredibly beneficial for your child's development.

Reading can:

- Support cognitive development
- Improve language skills
- Prepare children for academic success
- Help develop a special bond between parents and children
- Increase concentration
- Improve imagination and creativity
- Cultivate a lifelong love of reading

At Howard Junior School, the children love reading to our resident reading rabbit Biscuit. Ask them to tell you what they read together today!
