Please see below for what we learned in 6S this week.

Maths and reading : We completed our last assessments before the SATs which were the dreaded 2023 papers. The students did really well, with our top score being 100/110 in the maths and 45/50 on the reading paper.

Writing: We looked further at the Firework Maker's Daughter where the class used comparative language to describe the main character's struggle of climbing the volcano.

Science: students began to understand how light travels to the eye and drew and labelled the key features of the eye e.g. The retina.

PE: The students began to work on their shooting in handball, learning the overhand shot and the jumping overhand shot.

Geography: Students recapped the key features of a river and learnt about the size, significance and problems of the Mississippi River in our North America topic.
