This week, we have been busy continuing our sentence stacking as part of our fiction writing unit where we looked at the trailer for the film 'A Monster Calls' in order to begin to reflect on the relationship between Conor and the monster.
We will continue to look at the text 'A Monster Calls' after SATS week and will begin to shape our own piece of fictional writing. We look forward to some of the amazing pieces of writing that pupils will create.
In maths, we have targeted areas that we would like to work on ahead of SATS week next week and have used our recent PIXL data to help to identify our next steps. We have reflected upon volume, area, perimeter and how to respond to one and two-step word problems. This has been an informative way of ensuring that we have revised areas we are unsure of- ahead of next week.
We were also introduced to Guardians: Defenders of Mathematica which presents an interesting way of helping with timetables alongside our weekly TT Rockstars competition. Each week since half-term, the girls and boys of our class have battled it out in a TT Rockstars battle in order to receive a 5-minute extra break each Wednesday - each time the girls have taken the trophy.
In PE, we have continued to work on our basketball skills with Mr Watson, who has explained to us the terms footwork and shooting whilst helping us to use and develop the different types of passes, such as a chest pass, push-pass and rebound-pass.
