Week beginning 21.04.2025

A shorter week following the Easter break and the bank holiday - pupils were eager to continue their journey as we worked towards SATS week.

In maths, we completed work on statistics and the different representations of data-looking at how data can be analysed and questions that can stem from them.

An exciting week in English as we were introduced to our new text and the beginning of our next unit of work. Pupils began to explore 'A Monster Calls' by Patrick Ness and delved into the relationship between Conor and the monster. Our sentence-stacking lessons began and pupils were immersed in the Fantastics where we were drenched in engaging vocabulary to help create our own sentences.

On Friday, we were visited by the Mental Health Support Team, who led a 'SATS worries' workshop which provided resources and information about how to prepare for the upcoming SATS and how we can manage our own feelings of test anxiety.

Despite it only being 3 days, we were introduced to our Globalisation topic for Geography and had the opportunity to learn about how we greet others in Spanish - as well as being introduced to 'impressionism' through art and the depth of the work by Monet to experiment with brush strokes and the mixing of colours.
