Spring 2 Week 1

Mathematics

In Maths, we continued our work on measures by exploring millimetres and litres. The children used their knowledge of the four operations to solve problems linked to volume and capacity, helping them apply mathematical skills to real‑life contexts.

✏️ English

Our English lessons introduced a new theme focused on hosting a tea party. The children created invitations and menus, and followed a set of instructions to make a simple sandwich. This practical activity supported their understanding of instructional writing, sequencing and purpose.

🌍 Geography

In Geography, we located Australia on a world map and completed a fact file to discover key information about the country. This helped the children build their geographical knowledge while practising research and recording skills.

🕰️ History

This week in History, we were introduced to the Transatlantic slave trade. We learnt about its three stages and began discussing how this significant and tragic part of history impacted people and societies across the world.

🔬 Science

In Science, we began our new topic on forces. The children learnt to identify different forces at work in real‑life situations and began exploring how they affect movement and everyday objects.
