Spring 1 Week 2
Maths
This week in Maths, we explored addition and deepened our understanding of doubles. The children practised recognising doubles and used this knowledge to support their confidence with addition strategies.
English
In English, we continued our work on poetry. We explored a range of poetic features and discussed why these features are important in helping a poem create meaning, rhythm and imagery.
Geography
Our Geography lessons focused on rivers across Europe. We examined different European rivers, identifying their locations and learning about their key features.

History
As part of our Anglo‑Saxon topic, we investigated the similarities between the Scots and the Picts. The children enjoyed comparing aspects of their culture, lifestyle and historical significance.

Science
In Science, we experimented with torches and various objects to find out whether materials were transparent, translucent, or opaque. The children thoroughly enjoyed the hands‑on investigations and making predictions based on their observations.
