Spring 1 - Week 1
It has been a very busy first week back with lots of wonderful learning opportunities taking place.
In English, we have started looking at our unit on poetry where we have had to identify the shapes/features of the poem. In groups, children worked together to identify these, and then we discussed shape poems where children listened to a reading of them where they then had to draw the shape of the poem.

In Maths, we have revisited column addition and subtracting. After this, we then moved on to multiplication where we looked at arrays.

In Guided reading, we have been looking at 'Here We Are, up to' where we have answered some retrieval questions and inference questions.

In Spanish, we have been looking at Los animals where children have been learning how to say horse, pig, duck, rabbit and lion in Spanish alongside learning the spelling.

In Religious Education, we have started our new unit of work where we have looked at Hinduism and discovered key facts about the religion.
In Geography, we have started our unit on rivers where we discovered how a river starts and labelled a river.
In History, we have begun our learning about the Anglo-Saxons, where we looked at how the Anglo-Saxons took over, what they did and labelled the kingdoms created.
