Strong start to the summer term with Tennis!
This week has seen our children return to school after the Easter half-term. For this term we shall be studying 3 weeks of tennis and 3 weeks of football. Having lessons lasting more than 2 hours, allows all pupils plenty of time to develop their skills in each sport.
All year 3 and 4 classes focused on developing individual racket skills and then applying the forehand shot into a rally.
All year 5 and 6 classes worked on using a forehand and backhand stroke whilst being able to deliver both under pressure in match environments. Pupils were also taught the rules and scoring system of tennis, with the expectation that they would be able to officiate their own games independently and score.
