This week we welcomed the year 2 children (coming to Howard next year) to our Forest School. We read the Leaf Man story and made our own leaf people out of leaves and objects around Forest School. They looked amazing! We also came up with our own Forest School names and played an active game with actions like 'hop like a rabbit' and 'jump like a grasshopper', which we all enjoyed. Whilst we were making our leaf pictures, we discovered lots of green flies on a leaf, and they moved very quickly!

The other group was also very busy this week. One of the pupils very thoughtfully brought in a horse chestnut tree they had grown in their garden. We worked as a team and planted this in our Forest School area. We can't wait to have some conkers growing in Forest School!

We also made clay faces on our trees using objects found at Forest school. These looked brilliant, and we left them up to decorate our Forest School.

When we went bug hunting, we made lots of discoveries: woodlouse, red spiders, slugs, centipedes and more!
