Today we talked about the importance of having the correct Forest school clothing as at this time of year there are lots of minibeasts and nettles around. Long trousers are very important at Forest School to help protect our legs from bugs, nettles and branches when climbing trees. They prevent scratches! We also talked about the importance of washing our hands with soap and water when we return to school. Some of us spotted we had lots of lords and ladies at our Forest School site so we talked about not touching it as it is poisonous.

We are very interested in the robin that visits our Forest School, so we learnt the names of some common British birds we may see at Forest school, like sparrows, pigeons, blackbirds, woodpeckers and chaffinchs. We played a game to help us remember the names.

Some of us made leaf pictures, including this great leaf butterfly!

We also enjoyed working as a team altogether, digging up tree roots and finding lots of minibeasts. We found a centipede, beetles, crane fly, spiders and woodlouse. We also spotted an ant hole!
