Summer 2 Week 2

Maths
In Maths, we completed PIXL assessments in both arithmetic and reasoning. These provided pupils with the opportunity to demonstrate their fluency in calculations as well as their ability to apply mathematical skills to problem-solving questions. Pupils were encouraged to work carefully, check their answers and use appropriate strategies where needed.

✏️ English
In English, we completed PIXL assessments for reading and grammar, punctuation and spelling. These assessments allowed pupils to demonstrate their understanding of a range of texts, as well as their knowledge of spelling rules, punctuation and sentence structure. Pupils showed resilience and focus throughout the assessment process.

🌍 Geography
In Geography, we continued our learning about India by identifying and comparing its physical and human features. Pupils explored examples such as mountains, rivers and climate, alongside towns, transport systems and buildings, helping them to develop a clearer understanding of how environments are shaped.

🕰️ History
In History, we explored the relationship between Henry VI and Edward IV. Pupils learnt about how their rivalry formed part of the wider conflict during the Wars of the Roses and began to understand the impact of leadership and power struggles during this period.

🔬 Science
In Science, we explored friction as a force between two surfaces. Pupils investigated how friction affects movement and discussed examples from everyday life, developing their understanding of how forces can slow objects down or stop them moving altogether.
