We are halfway through the term and are finding history and the exploration of the Industrial Revolution fascinating. We have tried to recreate the action of a steam engine using an empty bottle, a balloon, a straw and a cup. We had to use our imagination, but we all had a much better understanding by the end of the day.

Science – The phases of the moon 

History – The importance of coal and iron 

Geography – The position of New Zealand across fault lines and the impact of earthquakes

Guided Reading – The theme has been dragons as we look at retrieval questions
