Summer 1 Week 1
This week, our Year 6 pupils have mainly focused on completing their mock SATs, approaching them with great determination and resilience. Alongside this, the children have continued to work hard across the rest of the curriculum.
✏️ English
In English, we have been concentrating on the different elements of the subject. The children have completed work on spelling rules, grammar, and reading comprehension, helping to develop both accuracy and understanding in their written and spoken work.
➗ Mathematics
In Mathematics, we have been exploring telling the time, including understanding how many minutes are in an hour and practising how to read and interpret the time confidently.
🌍 Geography
In Geography, we began our new topic on New Zealand, learning about its location and exploring some of the cities found within the country.
🕰️ History
In History, we have started work on the Industrial Revolution, discussing why it was such an important period for Britain and how it helped shape the country we know today.
🔬 Science
In Science, we launched our new topic on astronomy, with a particular focus this week on The Big Bang and how scientists explain the beginning of the universe.
