Spring 1 Week 5

➗ Maths
This week in Maths, we have focused on measures and the different units used to compare them. The children measured using centimetres, explored practical examples of length and height, and practised comparing and ordering a range of measurements.

✏️ English
In English, the children continued to explore poetry. They looked closely at different poetic features and began thinking about how they might use these to create their own poems.

🌍 Geography
In Geography, we learnt about the human features of Yorkshire. The children explored the similarities and differences between aqueducts and viaducts, discussing how each structure is used and why they are important.

🕰️ History
In History, we investigated the reasons why Britain built its empire. The children then applied their understanding by completing a timeline activity to show how historical events unfolded over time.

🔬 Science
In Science, we researched the lives and work of David Attenborough and Jane Goodall. The children loved discovering interesting facts about these inspiring scientists and used the information to create their own fact files.
