This week the weather had turned colder again, but on Monday it was a very still day so was perfect to enjoy having a fire at Forest School.
We enjoyed learning about the Forest School fire rules, the fire triangle (Oxygen, heat and fuel) and learning how to make a fire using certain types of sticks (thumb sticks, pencil sticks, matchsticks) and a tee-pee technique. Some of us also had a go at using the flint and steel to light the fire and get a spark.
Once the fire was lit we all enjoyed toasting our marshmallows to make smores and some of us tried a Forest School-style toffee apple! It was all very yummy!
We also made some bird feeders using cereal and pipe cleaners.
