Spring 1 Week 1
Maths
This week in Maths, we focused on recognising, adding, and making equal groups. These activities help build a strong foundation for multiplication and division. The children enjoyed using practical resources to create equal groups and solve problems, which encouraged teamwork and logical thinking.
English
In English, we began exploring poetry. The children looked at different types of poems and discussed what makes each one unique. We also explored rhyming words and alliteration, discovering how these techniques make poetry more engaging and fun. The children even tried creating their own short verses, which sparked lots of creativity!
Geography
Our Geography lessons introduced the features of East Anglia. The children began gathering information to create a fact file about this region. They explored its landscapes, climate, and key characteristics, and we will continue building on this knowledge in the coming weeks.

History
In History, we started our new topic on the British Empire. The children learnt about the different countries that were part of the Empire and worked on labelling maps to identify them. This activity helped them understand the scale and influence of the British Empire throughout history.

Science
Our new Science topic is all about how plants and animals in our local area change throughout the year. We began by exploring oak trees, discussing how they adapt to different seasons and why these changes are important for the ecosystem. The children showed great curiosity and were excited to learn more about seasonal changes in nature.
