Another busy week, here at 3/4M.
We have been continuing our learning in addition and subtraction. This week, our focus has been on subtraction and exchanging. We have also been looking at reasoning and problem-solving questions, to develop our reasoning skills using the think, prepare, discuss and share method.

In English, we have planned and written our first draft of a persuasive post focussing on promoting a toy.

In Geography, we have looked at urban and rural areas, deciding on the things that we would find in each of these areas.

In History, we have continued our learning about the Ancient Egyptians, where we have looked at their beliefs and how they believed in various gods and goddesses alongside the afterlife. As well as this, we discussed vocabulary such as mummification.

In Science, we looked at animal migration. We discussed how some animals do not always migrate. Instead, they hibernate. We discussed the reasons as to why animals migrate, including food, warmer places and to reproduce.
We had an inter-house competition where all pupils used their skills in hockey to compete against one another.

In Art, we used oil pastels to create a drawing of a still-life pear. We discussed shades, tints, for m and how to create a cast shadow.
