Autumn 2 Week 2
It has been another exciting week in the Aspire Suites, with students actively engaging in a variety of activities across different subjects.
Mathematics
This week, pupils explored the properties of shapes and learnt how to find lines of symmetry. They then applied this knowledge to work with 2D shapes.
English
Our English lessons continued with PIXL therapies, focusing on:
- Writing complete sentences
- Using correct tenses
- Spotting errors in texts
In addition, pupils created literacy work inspired by our discussions on Remembrance.
History
We learnt about the life of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette through an episode of Horrible Histories. This was highly informative and helped pupils understand Louis XVI’s role in the French Revolution.
Geography
Pupils explored famous mountains in the Alps and practised labelling the different parts of a mountain.

Science
In Science, we conducted an experiment to find the most effective materials for insulation. Pupils enjoyed measuring temperatures and observing how they changed.
Children in Need
This week, we raised money for Children in Need through a number of different activities. The pupils had a fantastic day and managed to help raise over £300 in doing so.
