A solid week building upon week one's learning within hockey.
All year 3 & 4 classes had a focus on developing decision-making when attacking & starting to understand the role of a defender in Hockey. There was a key focus on communication when in attack, whilst maintaining spacing to allow passing to happen. In defending, we introduced how to tackle and use our stick as a barrier.
All Year 5 & 6 classes had a focus on communication within their team, being well set up tactically when in attack and moving towards the opposition goal to score. We then focused on defending; learning how to use different techniques to gain possession.
Due to the sequencing of our lesson plans, year 3 and 4, there is a big focus on development of fundamental skills, such as grip, dribbling, passing. Once mastered, there is progression into games. Year 5 and 6 classes are forced to think more tactically with a larger focus on match-like situations.
Another week of good preparation for our hockey assessments and inter house hockey competition w/c 24th November 2025.
