Week 5, 6, 7

Year 3/4 pupils have demonstrated remarkable engagement and enthusiasm in their learning experiences.

In our Mathematics curriculum, the pupils have actively participated in hands-on activities designed to enhance their understanding of addition and subtraction through the use of concrete resources. This approach has not only made learning more accessible but has also fostered a greater enthusiasm for the subject.

In our English sessions, the pupils have engaged in various Pobble activities, which have provided them with the opportunity to develop their creative writing skills. Additionally, we incorporated Halloween-themed writing tasks, where pupils wrote detailed instructions on how to carve a pumpkin. These activities were not only enjoyable but also served to improve their instructional writing abilities.

Our History curriculum saw a deeper enquiry into the ancient monument of Stonehenge. The recent trip to Lynn Museum proved to be an enriching experience, allowing students to explore significant artefacts from the Stone Age and learn about the fascinating local history of Sea Henge.

In Geography, our focus has been on human geography as we compared localities, further enhancing the pupils' understanding of the world around them. This aspect of our curriculum is vital in cultivating a sense of place and appreciation for different communities.

Moreover, our Science lessons delved into the complexities of the digestive system. Pupils were able to further understand this journey by labelling and identifying types of teeth, an activity that was both educational and interesting.

Amidst this busy half-term, it has been delightful to witness our pupils revel in numerous Halloween-themed activities. They enthusiastically engaged in making decorations, painting pumpkins, and ultimately carving their own pumpkins, which not only encouraged creativity but also provided an opportunity for social interaction and teamwork.
