Week 4
It has truly been another fantastic week, filled with creativity and exploration, particularly as we embrace the spirit of Halloween amidst the demands of the Aspire Curriculum.
In Mathematics, the pupils have been actively exploring part-whole models, enhancing their understanding of how to add numbers together to form a total. Additionally, we revisited number bonds to 10 and examined various fact families, which are essential building blocks for mathematical development.
During our English sessions, pupils demonstrated great enthusiasm as they role-played like a mouse, discovering the reasons behind its thievery of kitchen items. Furthermore, we embarked on a creative endeavour to imagine a hotel in the sky, where pupils employed persuasive vocabulary to craft enticing invitations encouraging guests to check in. We utilised Pobble as a platform to spark our imaginations and provide engaging prompts for our writing.
In History, our enquiry into Stonehenge deepened, allowing pupils to label different elements of this ancient site while also uncovering its various uses throughout history. This exploration has sparked curiosity and numerous questions about our heritage.
In Geography, we compared the contrasting locales of King’s Lynn and San Francisco. The children successfully identified both similarities and differences between these two distinct locations, enhancing their geographical awareness and critical thinking skills.
Our Science lessons revolved around the significance of a healthy diet. The pupils creatively designed their own healthy plates, which provided a practical application of their knowledge and reinforced the importance of nutrition in our daily lives.
As we continue to engage in these varied subjects, we encourage you to discuss these topics with your children at home. Your involvement greatly supports their learning and development.
