Last week we had a special visitor in the classroom. PC James Smith came to classes to talk to the children about being safe, about his uniform and about his job role within the community. The children in the class came up with questions to ask him.  This sparked our morning conversation within class about how we stayed safe over the weekend!

In maths, we carried on with our number lines, this time, estimating on them. Children came up to use the main whiteboard and draw lines to show their estimations.

In History, we looked at the Stonehenge monument, we did a virtual tour looking around the monument. Through this, pupils discovered what it was used for, the types of stones that it was created from and the history behind it. Pupils had to draw their own picture of Stonehenge and label the different stones.

In English, we have been continuing with our sentence stacking lessons based on 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs'. This week we have focused on creating sentences with similes, using adverbial phrases, adjectives, complex sentences and onomatopoeia.

In Geography, we looked at map scales where pupils had to then use the scale to work out the distance between 2 places on the map.

In R.E, we continued our learning of Sikhism and developed our knowledge of the Amrit Ceremony and the Guru who created the first celebration and what this celebration entailed.
