As we progress through the academic term, it is imperative to reflect on the comprehensive learning experiences our students have engaged in this week across various subjects.
In Maths, our focus has been on reading and writing numbers up to 100. The students have been actively involved in partitioning numbers, which has enabled them to understand the composition of numerals better. Additionally, we have implemented exercises that require students to locate numbers on a number line, reinforcing their number sense. The targeted support provided during lessons has proven effective, as any misconceptions students have encountered are promptly addressed. This immediate feedback has fostered a supportive learning environment, allowing each child to feel secure in their understanding of mathematical concepts.
Transitioning to our English curriculum, this week has been particularly exciting as we explored Pobble 365. This creative platform has inspired our students to engage in imaginative writing, where they have concocted their own potions and designed intricate libraries. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect has been our revisitation of life during the age of dinosaurs. Through this creative lens, students have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in narrative construction and develop descriptive language skills, truly bringing their imaginative works to life.
In History, we have embarked on an exploration of Baghdad circa 900 CE. The focus has been on the rise of Islam and the unique historical significance of the city of Baghdad during this period. Students have engaged in discussions about the purpose behind the city's design, considering elements such as trade, culture, and education. This exploration has not only enriched their understanding of Islamic history but also stimulated critical thinking about how geography and culture interrelate.
In Geography, our current topic revolves around spatial sense. Students have been delving into the concepts of longitude and latitude, as well as the four hemispheres.
