Autumn 1 Week 2
It has been a very quiet week in 5–6 H, as nearly half our class took part in our annual residential trip. Whilst we have missed our classmates a great deal, we have been working hard in their absence.
In maths, we continue to explore place value and its role when determining the value of very similar numbers.
The Present is keeping our creative juices flowing as we generate similes and metaphors to make our writing more interesting to the reader.
In science, we had a closer look at arteries, veins and capillaries.
We continue to journey around the world in geography, looking at the eastern and western hemispheres.
As part of history, we were having a closer look at the city of Baghdad and its position on the river Tigris.
In swimming, there was progress as some children successfully completed 1 length of the 25-metre pool. Whilst in the smaller pool, everyone was getting comfortable blowing bubbles!
Rights and responsibilities were on the cards in PSHEE.
As we continued to study Judasim. We found out more about the new year celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
This week's new spellings are now safely stuck in reading records, and we look forward to more top scores next week.
