It’s been another exciting and busy week in our classroom, full of new discoveries and great progress across all subjects!
English:
We’ve been hard at work on our independent writing projects. After drafting our ideas, we took time to edit and improve our work, making sure our punctuation, grammar, and spelling were the best they could be. Then, we re-wrote our pieces to create our final published versions. It was great to see everyone take pride in their writing and produce such creative and thoughtful work!
Maths:
In Maths, we’ve continued exploring fractions. We learnt about unit fractions and non-unit fractions of a set of objects. Through hands-on activities and problem-solving, we’re becoming more confident in identifying and understanding parts of a whole.
History:
Our focus on history this week has been the Great Plague. We found out what the symptoms were and how the plague spread quickly through London and other cities in the UK. It was fascinating (and a little bit scary!) to learn about how people lived during that time and what they believed caused the illness.
Geography:
We’ve started a brand-new topic – Japan! We located Japan on a world map, discussed its continent (Asia), and the countries that surround it. We also learnt about the four main islands of Japan and labelled them on our own maps. We’re excited to find out more about Japanese culture, geography and history as the topic continues.
It’s been a fantastic week of learning – we can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
