We will be teaching the Jane Considine approach of 'The Write Stuff'. This has different components, including 'experience days' which intends to hook writers and engage children in the topic through drama and research. Additionally, we have 'find the shape' which teaches children the key features of the genre. Finally, we have sentence stacking lessons which are the building blocks in order for children to become independent writers and master the genre. They will learn the key writing skills from the 'writing rainbow' which is pictured below. The topics for writing for each year for Summer 2 are:
