Maths - Fractions!

This week we have been building on their understanding of numerators and denominators to unitise fractions and add them together. 

We have been exploring fractions through the use of pictorial representations and manipulatives. We then used what we learnt about unitising denominators to subtract fractions.  Year 3 were able to recognise that when subtracting fractions with the same denominator, they only subtract the numerators and the denominator stays the same.

English - The Write Stuff - The Gardener.

We have been continuing to finish off our independent write. We have been including features such as metaphors, alliteration and a range of different punctuation.

Computing - Looking at editing photos. We used our iPads to change the lighting, colour, rotation and size of images to make them more effective. We discussed the advantages and disadvantages of being able to edit photos.

Geography - Looking at London and the SE.

We focused on looking at Brighton and why Brighton is a popular tourist attraction. We discussed a range of human and physical factors that make Brighton a wonderful place.
